What is a virtual hosting account?
We specialize in virtual hosting which means that you can find a home for your website on our web servers and establish a presence on the Internet. We can help register your own domain name which will become your unique address on the World Wide Web. Having your own domain name does not reveal that you are renting web space, and, since email can be addressed to your domain (eg. www.any-name.com) you will not have to announce a new email address if you change internet providers. And, with a domain name you can transfer your web presence at any time and never lose your identity since you can take your www.any-name.com with you.
Will I be able to access my domain name with or without the www?
Yes, if your website is hosted by DeafVision you will be able to access your domain name with or without the www in front. For example, you could access the domain name "any-name.com" by going to http://www.any-name.com as well as http://any-name.com". Many web hosting companies do not offer this feature. For example, try the website of City College of San Francisco. Go to http://ccsf.edu (the site does not come up). Now add the "www" in front - http://www.ccsf.edu. This is an example of a website that only works with the "www" in the URL. With DeafVision your domain will work both ways.
Do you offer dial-up Internet access?
No, you will need local Internet access in order to maintain your website and retrieve email addressed to your site. We devote all of our server resources and ultra fast connections solely to serving our customer's websites. Providing this specialized service means that we do not have hundreds of modems to maintain enabling us to devote more time to our customers and to the addition of enhancements to the entire system.
Do you support Microsoft FrontPage Extensions?
Yes. All of our web hosting plans except for the Starter Plan have the option of having FrontPage Extensions enabled. If this is something you will be using, be sure to indicate this on your Order Form when ordering.
Do you offer web page design services?
We certainly do! DeafVision offers professional, high quality web design and custom programming services at affordable rates. And we don't stop there. Can I upgrade from one account type to another?
Yes, you can upgrade at any time. There's a $25 upgrade fee to reconfigure your account. We will also give you any hosting credit left over from your previous account toward your new account.
Do you offer PHP and MySQL?

I don't have a credit card. Does DeafVision accept other forms of payment?
Yes, we do. We gladly accept payment by check, money order or Pay Pal.
Do you offer a 30 day money back guarantee?

How can I switch to DeafVision from my current web hosting company?
Changing web hosts is relatively easy and DeafVision is happy to guide you through the process. The main thing you'll need to do is change your domain's nameservers. We'll explain how to do this after you sign up. Please be sure to indicate on your order form that you're transferring your domain so that we can better assist you with this process.
Will you place any ads on my website?
Absolutely not. DeafVision does not place any advertisement on your website whatsoever. No banners, no annoying pop-ups, no branding of any kind. You have full control over your website and its content.
Will I be able to send and receive email through DeafVision?
Yes. You will be able to send and receive email through our servers using your domain such as you@your_domain.com via your Internet dial-up or DSL connection. We provide both POP3 and SMTP capabilities. You can also send and receive email using our Atlas Webmail program directly from your web browser.
Will I have unlimited access to update my web pages ?
Absolutely! You have unlimited access via FTP 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and upload files to your website at anytime.
Can I use my account for commercial purposes?
Yes, you can use your account for commercial purposes. The World Wide Web has become a most efficient and cost-effective means of making information, products and services available to the users of the internet community.
Do you offer secure server space for transferring credit card information securely over the Internet?
Yes, this feature is offered with our Standard and Power Plans. Our servers are equipped with the latest SSL technology so your customers can safely order your products or services online. Normally, any text sent from your browser is sent as plain text. This means that a hacker could potentially intercept the information sent from your browser and read it.
By using our secure server (SSL), the information is encrypted before it is sent. It would be practically impossible for anyone to decrypt it without knowing the key.
Do you accept international orders?
Yes, we welcome customers from around the world. We're as close as your computer. If desired, we can host non-US domain name extensions.
Do you offer technical support?
